More About Sana...

THE JOURNEY: The journey has been nothing short of amazing. I am grateful that I got the break I did, with mega Bollywood blockbuster Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, at such a tender age. I just feel lucky that

I got the opportunity to constantly be learning about the field I would grow up to be immensely passionate about, right from the very beginning.

THE BIG DEBUT: It was a dream breakthrough! I got to work with the most talented co stars in such close proximity, the best production house, and a fabulous director. Even 20 years since Kuch Kuch

Hota Hai, they are the same names that still run most of the Bollywood film industry.

THE FIRST AUDITION: I remember going for an audition and having fun, imagining all the crazy situations in your head and enacting them out. I quickly understood that an actor needs to take criticism and feedback in a positive manner, and be open enough to change the way you imagined the outcome of the audition. I feel like being a

director’s actor works on most days.

THE CHILD BEFORE THE ACTOR: My parents were always supportive of my career. But at the same time they kept me grounded. I never missed school for shoots. I played basketball and went for the usual camps with my friends. I only auditioned or went on shoots in my free time. Once upon a time I even aspired to be a Vet, as I love animals.

THE CAREER TRAJECTORY: I thrive on new experiences. I did a bunch of reality television shows which really made you surrender your mind body and soul to because they are so competitive. They toughened me up, as well as taught me ever more so how to take criticism and or how to accept failure. It also gave me the chance to outdo my own expectations. I think most of the work that I opt for has taught me how to life, in general.

THE GLOBAL CLIMB: Bollywood will always be home, but I definitely want to explore Hollywood too. I’ve grown up watching so many Hollywood films, I absolutely love their craft and cinema. That’s what compelled me to go study at NYFA in Los Angeles, USA. We are lucky that in the recent times there’s so much scope and opportunity for actors worldwide, so I wanted to make that count.

THE FIRST INTERNATIONAL FILM: I acted in an Australian film called Social Media Murder Society, alongside mainly Australian costars. It was a great experience.

THE INTERESTS APART FROM ACTING: I love dancing, and if I have free time away from acting, I invest it in training with different choreographers. I also love reading, mainly self help books, I think there’s a sort of superpower that comes with that kind of information. I am constantly motivated and bubbling with renewed focus and energy, I think that’s my super power.

THE NETFLIX CURRENT FAVOURITE: My recent favourite on Netflix was The Affair. I was in love with Ruth Wilson’s character “Alison” so much. Later I found out she also won the golden globe in the best actress category. She absolutely deserved it!

THE DREAM FILM: The real dream film would be La La Land. I mean who wouldn’t want to play a struggling actor that gets to live their dream, that’s basically most of our lives. Damien Chazelle is one of my favorite directors.

THE DREAM ROLE: My dream role would be to play Natalie Portman in the Black Swan. Right from the script to the training that must have

gone in to it, it’s all so inspiring!

THE FAVOURITE GENRE: I like mainly Drama.

Drama/romance, drama/thriller, drama/ mystery.

THE FITNESS REGIME: I do a variety of things on different days. Functional training, kick boxing, ashtanga yoga, dancing are some of the current things I do to keep fit. I just ask my body what it feels like doing today and then I go do it.

THE REAL-TIME HERO/INSPIRATION: Oprah Winfrey is my real life hero. I follow her career and how she’s turned into the person she is

today and her story is absolutely fascinating to me.

THE ACTORS I WANT TO WORK WITH: Meryl Streep is MY ALL TIME FAVORITE and Jake Gyllenhaal has been my current favorite for

awhile, but I do love Eddie Redmayne as well.

Also Ranbir Kapoor is great. I have a list of directors but currently I would love to work with Damien Chazelle. I think I’ve grown up wanting to work with Leonardo DeCaprio.

THE STYLE SENSIBILITIES: Whether it’s being glammed up for work or wearing my daily casuals, I look for comfort first. I think when you’re comfortable you’re automatically more confident. But I love fashion all in all, I am super experimental. I am definitely appearance driven, I think how you carry yourself has a lot to tell about who you are!

THE CAUSE CLOSE TO MY HEART: I am an animal lover. I am always donating to various organizations online, but Black Jaguar White Tiger

organization and GG CONSERVATION, which both rescue lions and tigers are my most constant.
